What is a skin tag?

Skin tags are harmless, fleshy growths. They often occur in areas of the body exposed to friction, such as underarms, neck, under the breasts and in the groin, but they can appear anywhere. They are usually skin coloured, but can also be slightly darker or pinker than the surrounding skin.

They don’t hurt, but they can be a nuisance and some people opt to have them removed.
